The Name
The name Greenpoint Garden & Landscaping was selected for this business, one specialising in soft landscaping, for symbolic purposes.
It is quite straight forward. Green symbolises plants, and we focus specifically on plants as the stars of a garden or landscape, they are the whole point you could say. Hence: Greenpoint.
The green dot atop the ‘i’ in the logo, from which the star emanates reflects this sentiment.
Ethos
All too often it can be seen: plants, the fundamental component of any garden, are mistreated and overlooked in the creation of new gardens, as well as in the maintenance of established gardens.
Through passion and respect, we aim to provide garden and landscape services with a complete focus on the proper treatment of plants; ensuring the best health, longevity, and ultimately the best looks that a garden can achieve.
It may sound obvious; stating plants as the focus of a garden/landscaping business (of course they are, or at least they should be).
Throughout my time as a student of horticulture, a nursery worker, a gardener, and a lifelong lover of plants; I have observed many awe inspiring plants and gardens, as well as cases in which planted locations have been unfortunately mismanaged or poorly planned, and clearly appearing so.

Soft vs Hard Landscaping
At Greenpoint, we focus on soft landscaping; which refers specifically to the vegetation in the garden as opposed to hard landscaping components such as paving and walls.
We design complete gardens including hard landscaping details. We can install hard landscaping features in some cases. The construction of large scale or complex hard landscaping features however may be subcontracted or up to you as a client to hire a specialist if preferred.

We hold dearly a single core principle: that mindfully designed gardens and well cared for plants are the healthiest; and the healthiest plants and gardens are always the best looking.
